Press Release: Utah Consular Corps and Utah Korean Chamber of Commerce Forge Official Partnership

Salt Lake City, June 25, 2025 — The Utah Consular Corps (UCC) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishing an official partnership with the Utah Korean Chamber of Commerce (UKCC). The agreement was formalized today by Martin Gaucin, Advisor to the Corps, acting on behalf of UCC President Jonathon Tichy, and HyeaWon Clayton, President of the Utah Korean Chamber of Commerce.

Under this new partnership, the UCC and UKCC will collaborate to strengthen economic, cultural, and educational ties between Utah’s international community and the vibrant Korean business sector. Key areas of cooperation outlined in the MOU include:

  • Business Networking and Trade Promotion: Jointly hosting forums and roundtables to facilitate connections between Utah-based enterprises and Korean investors, exporters, and entrepreneurs.

  • Cultural and Educational Exchange: Developing programming—such as language workshops, cultural festivals, and school outreach—to foster mutual understanding and appreciation of Korean heritage within the broader Utah community.

  • Community Engagement: Coordinating outreach efforts to support Korean-American residents in Utah, ensuring they have access to resources, consular services, and civic participation opportunities.

“Today’s signing marks a significant milestone in our mission to build bridges across diverse communities,” said Martin Gaucin. “By partnering with the Utah Korean Chamber of Commerce, we are not only promoting trade and investment but also deepening the cultural fabric of our state.”

Moving forward, the UCC and UKCC will convene a joint steering committee to develop a detailed calendar of events and initiatives for the coming year.
