Introducing: Honorary Consul of the United Kingdom, James Clarke

Meet James Clarke – a dynamic leader, global entrepreneur, and Honorary Consul of the United Kingdom in Utah! With an astounding career spanning five continents, James has been at the helm of private and public companies, overseeing operations with over 36,000 employees worldwide. As the CEO and founder of Clearlink—an innovative company he built, sold, and proudly rejoined—James demonstrates that visionary leadership and a passion for excellence know no bounds.

A proud graduate of BYU, Harvard, and Oxford University (with a master’s degree in management), his impressive educational journey underpins a career filled with impactful board roles, nonprofit endeavors, and transformational leadership. Notably, James recently served as governor-appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees for Utah Valley University, Utah’s largest university, reinforcing his steadfast commitment to education and community development.

James’s vision extends beyond boardrooms and balance sheets—his family charity, the Labor & Honor Foundation, is dedicated to alleviating poverty, supporting education, and uplifting the arts. Deeply rooted in his heritage, the foundation’s name echoes his family’s centuries-old English crest, reminding us all that every task, no matter how grand or small, should be undertaken with honor.

His heartfelt commitment to the "special relationship" between Utah and the UK is evident—from his cherished memories at Oxford and long-standing ties with esteemed partners like James Harrison, to celebrating his British roots, as his namesake great-great grandfather was born in Clifford, England 200 years ago. This rich legacy fuels his ambition to strengthen our transatlantic collaborations, bridging historical connections with modern achievements in technology, aerospace, and beyond.

His journey of innovation, education, and community service is an inspiration to us all. Here’s to fostering enduring partnerships and creating new opportunities for prosperity on both sides of the Atlantic.
